We are seeking a talented and experienced Facility Manager to join our team. As a Facility Manager, your role is to provide support to the General Manager at the new flagship, Woolwich Waves by looking after the plant rooms, PPM, LCM, R&M, contractor management, H&S and project delivery.

 

What you’ll do:

*        Ensure buildings are safe and compliant through regular servicing of plant and equipment and by having a responsive reactive maintenance regime.

*        Hold discussions with senior centre staff about compliance and holding meetings with other colleagues, contractors, and clients.

*        Prioritise R&M jobs for the day and allocate work streams to colleagues, managing the frequency of breakdowns to plant and equipment in the building open all year round.

*        Solve problems with technical and strategic-thinking abilities, managing challenges including complex equipment, mechanics, electrics, and hazardous materials.

*        Manage time and prioritise tasks effectively.

*        Communicate effectively with people at all levels, from senior GLL colleagues to contractors, maintenance personnel, and clients.

 

What you need:

*        Willingness to work unsociable hours, including weekends, evenings, and out of hours.

*        Availability to be on call and attend centre as required, including out of hours.

*        Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of plant room operations, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and associated technical systems.

*        Hold a pool plant operator qualification

*        Be practically skilled and hands-on with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including grounds upkeep and general facility care.

*        Ensure fire safety and water compliance by carrying out routine checks and weekly tasks, including fire alarm testing and water management checks.

*        Carry out routine pool watering testing, including two-hour sample checks to ensure water quality and safety standards are consistently met.

*        Monitor and manage pool chemical supplies, ensuring timely ordering and safe storage in accordance with COSHH regulations and health and safety standards.

*        Manage the repairs and maintenance tracker by reviewing tasks submitted by colleagues, prioritising issues, and ensuring timely completion of all works.
