Flexible Events Assistant at Westminster Boating Base: 16-20 hours

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

As an Events Assistant at GLL, you’ll be part of a team that brings people together through well-organised, impactful events. You’ll support the Events Manager in planning and delivering a variety of events that reflect GLL’s commitment to community, quality, and service excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Events Manager with day-to-day planning and coordination
  • Liaising with guests, suppliers, performers, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and smooth logistics
  • Responding to event enquiries and managing bookings with professionalism and care
  • Ensuring all event spaces are prepped and presented to a high standard, with a keen eye for detail
  • Providing on-the-day support to ensure seamless delivery and a positive guest experience
  • Maintaining accurate event calendars, guest lists, and documentation

About you:

You’re passionate about events and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. You take pride in the small details that make a big difference and are committed to delivering exceptional experiences.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic about events, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences
  • Experienced in events, admin, or hospitality (preferred but not essential)
  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and presentation
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required
