Digital Product Manager

Are you a customer-focused digital professional with a passion for improving user journeys and creating meaningful experiences? GLL, the UK’s largest leisure and libraries operator, is looking for a Digital Product Manager to join our Marketing team.

In this role, you’ll take the lead on shaping and improving post-login digital experiences across our platforms. From strategy to delivery, you’ll use insight, research, and performance data to identify opportunities, define objectives, and ensure that every improvement delivers value for both our customers and the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategically minded and outcome-driven individual to champion customer-first thinking and make a real impact on how people engage with our digital products.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and lead the digital customer experience strategy for logged-in journeys across web, app, and other platforms.

  • Translate customer insight and behavioural data into objectives that drive engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

  • Shape and own team OKRs, aligning customer needs with business goals and the wider product vision.

  • Lead research and discovery to uncover customer pain points and opportunities, avoiding solution bias.

  • Maintain and evolve customer journey maps, personas, and experience assumptions.

  • Collaborate across teams to embed a test-and-learn approach, ensuring initiatives are validated and deliver real impact.

  • Align marketing, product, and operational teams around a cohesive post-login experience strategy.

  • Champion outcome-focused, customer-led thinking across digital experiences.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in service design, digital experience, or customer journey strategy.

  • Strong understanding of OKRs, continuous discovery, and data-informed product development.

  • Skilled in leading both qualitative and quantitative research and turning insight into action.

  • Experience with customer journey mapping and measuring experience outcomes.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills to bring diverse teams together.

  • Collaborative, curious, and motivated by customer impact.

This position provides the option to work in-person at any of our UK locations, subject to role-specific requirements and availability.

As a charitable social enterprise and cooperative owned by our staff, GLL is a unique organisation for you to have a career with!

The basics:

  • This is a Full time permanent position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible.
  • We are an accredited Living Wage employer with industry-leading rates of pay.
  • We can offer a career, not just a job, with extensive Learning & Development support available.
  • GLL is Values Driven, not Profit Driven. We work hard to benefit the communities we operate in.
  • As a staff-owned organisation, you will be given the opportunity to join the Society and have a stake in your business.

Additionally, GLL offers employees a range of employment benefits:

  • Access to a pension scheme.
  • Health Assurance and access to Counselling services.
  • Access to the tax-efficient Ride to Work bicycle purchase scheme.
  • Free annual eye tests.
  • Discounted nationwide (over 200 centres) inclusive leisure centre membership for you and your partner. This includes GLL Extras!

GLL Society benefits (if you choose to join the Society after your probation period) include:

  • The right to stand for the Society board and to vote for board members to represent you.
  • Access to team building and fun events such as treks, concerts, outings, etc.
