Post: Cleaning Assistant
Contract: Friday & Sunday, 7am - 9am, extra shifts avalible for sickness and holdiay cover
Salary: £12.60 per hour (Real Living Wage)
We are looking for a conscientious and reliable team player to join our cleaning team. As a Cleaning Assistant at the Hub, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment that meets the Centre’s high customer care standards.
What you’ll do:
Act as a keyholder, opening the building and completing daily opening checks (security, safety and cleanliness).
Follow the cleaning schedule to a high standard, covering daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Areas include toilets, offices, café, studio, workshop, stairwells and lifts.
Carry out tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors and skirting boards, dusting surfaces, sanitising touch points, removing cobwebs, cleaning windows, doors, signage and lighting, and emptying bins.
Check and restock cleaning supplies daily (toilet rolls, hand soap, blue roll).
Monitor cleaning equipment and materials, and request top-ups as required.
Maintain consistently high hygiene standards across all areas.
What you need:
Skills & Knowledge
Good time management.
Strong attention to detail.
Awareness of COSHH (training can be provided).
Experience
- Previous cleaning experience is essential, ideally in a commercial or public setting.
Personal Qualities
Reliable and punctual.
Flexible and adaptable to support the Centre’s daily operations.
Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Positive and practical “can-do” attitude.
