Flexible Kayak and Canoe Coaches and Paddlesport Leaders
Watersports Instructors - RYA and Paddle UK
GLL is looking for Paddle UK coaches and Leaders to join our dynamic team at Westminster Boating Base on the Thames in central London. WBB is a Royal Yachting Association training centre and Paddle UK delivery partner teaching a wide range of abilities and age groups from 10yrs upwards. Based in Pimlico, we typically operate between Putney to Tower Bridge depending upon tidal conditions.
We are looking for qualified coaches to join our professional and experienced team running sessions and courses for young people and adults.
You’ll have a real passion for the sport and must hold one or higher of the following:
Paddle UK Paddlesport Leader
Paddle UK Coach*
*Applicable Coach Awards: Kayak and/or Canoe Coach (sheltered water), Open Water Coach (kayak and/or canoe) Sea Kayak coach, Whitewater Coach (kayak and/or canoe). UKCC Level 2 coach or BCU Level 3.
Following successful hire, you’ll be fully inducted to the centre’s operating procedures and work alongside other coaches and instructors in what is a challenging, interesting and fun environment. On-the-job training will be provided and there will be opportunities for skill development and broadening skills and qualifications.
You will be required to run high quality watersports sessions, managing assisting instructors and volunteers, set up and pack down the equipment at the start and end of each day, ensure the health and safety of staff and customers and guarantee the highest standards of service. When not teaching, you will be expected to perform a variety of roles including equipment maintenance, cleaning, operational tasks and admin support. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service.
