Full-time position, with a starting salary of up to £32,120 per year.

 

British Cycling Coaching level 2 award (or equivalent) preferably with DSU in Track Cycling.

As a Cycling Coach we’ll look to you to deliver high quality, rider-focused coaching across all four of the cycling disciplines; track, BMX, road and mountain biking, as well as balance bikes. You’ll coach anyone from school children to corporate groups and experienced riders at all levels. Working within the VeloPark coaching team, a Cycling Coach will be a strong team player, planning and delivering effective coaching sessions, and acting as an inspirational ambassador for the VeloPark. As Cycling Coach, advocating best practice, keeping up to date with the latest developments and regularly reviewing your performance whilst pursuing continual professional development will form key parts of your role.

What you’ll do:

 

  • To deliver coaching across all of the VeloPark disciplines ranging from balance bike and Bikeability through to elite competency.

  • To deliver coaching including the complete in house programme including accreditation, skills sessions, club and schools bookings and corporate packages as well as other coached activities.

  • To lead and guide casual and volunteer coaches in delivery as part of a strong team unit in conjunction with the Lead coach

  • To liaise with the management team in order to ensure that the highest safety standards are met in terms of venue infrastructure, hire equipment and coaching protocol.

What you need:

  • British Cycling Coaching award (or equivalent) preferably with DSU in Track Cycling and BMX

  • A willingness to further develop coach skills through further coaching courses and CPD both internally and externally

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of team within a coaches remit

  • To ensure all statutory requirements (e.g. Health & Safety, Child Protection, Environmental Health requirements) are adhered to in delivering the coached sessions

  • Hold a relevant First aid certificate

  • Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment with will be subject to a satisfactory enhance DBS check.

  • Flexible availability is essential to this role, as you will be working regular evening and weekend shift
