GLL is looking for a Tennis Lead to work at the Manchester Tennis and Football Centre but also support programmes across our other Manchester venues.

As a Tennis Lead you’ll be highly motivated and committed to engaging and inspiring participants of all ages and abilities within a safe setting. You'll be responsible for all tennis business within the centre; supporting the General Manager in the overall performance and delivery of the tennis service, sales, customer service, cleanliness, staffing, health & safety and brand delivery. Ensuring that Key Service Performance Indicators are met. Adopting a commercial tennis sales approach to growing participation and the tennis business. You will be responsible for all coaching staff.

What you’ll do:
- You will be responsible for the tennis business for the centre.
- Supporting the General Manager in the overall performance and delivery of the tennis service, sales, customer service, cleanliness, staffing, health & safety and brand delivery. Ensuring that Key Service Performance Indicators are met.
- To adopt a commercial tennis sales approach to growing participation and the tennis business.
- To be an ambassador for GLL’s tennis vision both internally and externally communicating and promoting the vision and direction of GLL inline with its business model.
- Responsible for the health and safety of participants, and coaching staff reporting any defects of equipment and facilities to the General Manager.
- To strengthen community links with working partners, GLL management and customers.
- Understand and implement relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide visible leadership to the departmental staff, ensuring they are highly trained and motivated and operate at high levels of both performance and efficiency.
- Ensure all members of the team are effectively managed and supervised and that all people management procedures are effectively operated within the team (e.g. recruitment, absence reporting, qualification maintenance, appraisals, discipline etc.)
- Set up, manage and promote the on court tennis programme and coaching qualifications in line with LTA and Clubspark guidelines.
- Act as a point of contact for members and interact on a social and coaching level.
- To work with external partners to develop and implement a comprehensive in school tennis programme and develop quality school links.
- Set up regular competitive opportunities for all ages and abilities within the membership and encourage development and further skills of individuals through to competitive levels where applicable.
- To assist in the entry and selection of teams and oversee financial league payments.
- Attend meetings in order to offer regular feedback on the organisation and degree of success of coaching and competitions; also to discuss potential opportunities to growth and attraction.
- Optimise facilities and resources and help advance the facility’s overall development.
- Liaise with outside bodies to source funding for overall programme.
- Manage the team of coaches, run regular team meetings and regular in service training sessions which cover: coaching standards, theme and content of weekly programme, update on news event.
- To ensure effective liaison with relevant LTA staff.
- To ensure the site objectives are being met for social inclusion.
- To schedule coaching rota regarding court access and coaches duties within the coaching programme.
- To contribute with material for the production of coaching information for customers and staff.
- To assist with the preparation for future projects for development.
- To organise periodic special events at the facility in an effort to attract and retain members’ tennis interest.
- To communicate programme updates and changes to operation staff.
- To monitor equipment requirements, storage and purchase requests.
- To develop profitable and innovative additions to current programme.
