GLL is looking for a SPORT & EVENTS MARKETING ACTIVATOR to work 20 hours per week on a 12month fixed term contract with the opportunity for an extension

1. RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Elite Sport and Events and Partnership Marketing Manager

 

2. RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Working with the Community, Sport and Health Team to coordinate, deliver and deploy multi-channel marketing and content plans to enhance engagement with key audiences, in line with key partnership priorities around dry sport and events.

  • Updating and maintaining customer journey touchpoints that includes social media and centre webpages as required.

  • Ensuring all content, messaging and collateral aligns to on-brand messaging and represents the brand in the most effective way.

  • Supporting the analysis of the impact and effectiveness of marketing activity to help inform future content and engagement.

 

3. ROLE OVERVIEW

  • This role plays a fundamental part in leading the development and delivery of priorities set by the Head of Elite Sport and Events and Partnership Marketing Manager.

  • The primary focus of this role is to support the Sport Leads and General Managers in the activation of multi-channel marketing programmes and improved customer journeys, aligned to partnership and commercial objectives.

  • This is an evolving role so you may be required to undertake additional tasks or participate in projects set by the Partnership Marketing Manager.

 

4. SPECIFICALLY

4.1 Content Development and Delivery

  • Oversee the development of customer communication and promotional materials and social media at a partnership level and ensure brand guidelines and approval protocols are followed.

  • Understand the design, communications and production process to identify opportunities to maximise return and optimise budget.

  • Develop and maintain a captivating customer journey through owned, paid and earned channels to deliver fully integrated marketing activity. * Share ideas, contributing to brainstorms and voicing opinion on workflow management, creative and marketing programmes.

  • Develop internal and external communications such as newsletters, infographics, intranet articles and blogs to showcase the great work that goes on across the Partnership

  • Ensure all marketing materials support partnership strategic goals and brand identity (if required), and take into account intended use and audience.

  • Develop and maintain key working relationships with internal and external marketing functions (Graphic Art and Print, National Marketing & Product teams and partner agencies).

4.2 Brand Stewardship

  • Ensure that the Partnership and Local Marketing materials comply and adhere to the brand standards and principles across all marketing channels and executions.

4.3 Workflow Management

  • Manage and deliver cross-functional tasks using agile workflow methods.

  • Collaborate with other marketing activators to solve or improve workflow challenges.

  • Coordinate and deliver training, presentations, reports, events and meetings as required.

4.4 Other

  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to promote marketing as a helpful, solution finding support service within the business * Provide cover and support for marketing colleagues as required.

  • A relevant degree and/or working towards a professional qualification (i.e. CIM, IDM or related qualification)

  • Strong people / team management and communication skills

  • The ability to interpret requirements from various stakeholders (e.g. customers, facility managers, Sport Leads,), turning their requests into actionable marketing activity with definitive and trackable outputs

6.3 EXPERIENCE

Marketing Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of basic marketing principles and concepts through coursework or practical experience. Familiarity with consumer behaviour, market research, and promotional strategies is preferred. Event Planning: Previous involvement in organizing or assisting with events, campaigns, or promotional activities is desirable. Ability to coordinate logistics, manage timelines, and engage with stakeholders effectively. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience participating in group projects or extracurricular activities that involve teamwork and cooperation is beneficial. Creativity and Innovation: Demonstrated creativity in generating ideas Digital Marketing: Basic understanding of digital marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and content creation. Experience in managing social media accounts or creating digital content is an asset. Analytical Skills: Basic analytical skills to interpret data and metrics related to marketing activities. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments. Previous experience balancing academic commitments with extracurricular activities or part-time work is beneficial. Passion for Marketing & Sports: Genuine interest in marketing and sports and events plus a desire to learn and grow in the field. Previous exposure to marketing-related coursework or sports and events an advantage
