GLL is looking for a Sports Activator, to work at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre and if the programme becomes successful, work across all Barnet Leisure Centres. The ‘Sports Activator’ role is responsible for supporting the growth of dry Sports across GLL through the planning and facilitation of high-quality Social Sports sessions. The Sports Activator will be expected to activate social sport sessions so that activities are welcoming and well organised, which will help to encourage social interaction and continued participation in recreational sport. Sports Activators play a key role in continuously refining sessions based on the needs and experiences of those taking part so that sessions remain of a high quality.
What you’ll do:
Arrive ahead of time to prepare for the activity.
Complete set up and set down of equipment.
Welcome customers to the session.
Explain the rules and regulations.
Organise teams and games whilst ensuring rotation.
Be ready to adapt sessions to meet the varied abilities of participants.
Remain present throughout the session as main point of contact.
Finish with a summary and an informal chat with participants.
Provide feedback where required.

What you need:
Sports Activator Essentials training
Enhanced DBS check
Safeguarding qualification
Good customer service skills
Knowledge of delivering sporting activities
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

This is a Full time / part time /, permanent / Flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service, flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
