This is a rare opportunity to work at GLLs flagship facility set to open this year. The new Woolwich Waves Leisure Centre will be one of the largest flagship centres that GLL has operated. Designed by the Britannia project team and at a cost of over £115m, the new centre will boast:

 

  • Large leisure pool with flumes, toddler pool and a large wet play park

  • 25m, 8-lane fitness pool

  • 20m training pool

  • Spa Experience with health suite and treatment rooms, all adjoining the training pool to give a true health club style spa experience

  • 200-station gym over two floors

  • Four studios – Group Cycle, Elevate, and two fitness studios

  • Indoor 5-a-side 3G pitch

  • Soft play and party rooms

As a Spa Supervisor, you will thrive as part of a team, communicating with colleagues and other departments with confidence and sensitivity. You will liaise directly with the Spa Service Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, efficient reception, supervision, and maintenance of the spa department. This includes operation, stock control, programming, promotion, sales, developing staff, and ensuring excellent customer services whilst achieving business, financial, and sales targets. Spa Supervisors are integral to maintaining the high standards and smooth operations of the spa.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Build a high profile rapport with customers and create an excellent, quality ‘customer experience’ within the Spa.

  • Ensure customer compliance with spa rules and procedures.

  • Ensure the highest quality standards of customer care and service delivery are achieved within the Spa.

  • Sell thermal spa experiences, treatments, and retail merchandise to achieve performance targets set.

  • Ensure the Senior Therapist team has set retail targets to achieve the business and financial objectives.

  • Actively up-sell services during customer interaction.

  • Encourage bookings of the experience and treatments from enquirers in person and on the telephone; communicate new ventures and recommend appropriate services to potential customers.

  • Manage the Spa Day Package and group booking programme.

  • Embrace the spa LONDON brand ethos and apply this throughout service delivery.

  • Market and promote the spa.

  • Act as Shift Manager as required, supervising operational shifts and carrying out any other duties as required commensurate with the post's level of responsibility (including cover at other Spas).

  • Assist in the development of a portfolio of quality spa services and products.

  • Ensure the smooth operations of the booking system.

  • Ensure a robust stock control system is in place with regular stock recording and ordering, supporting and managing the Senior Therapist in this task.

What you need:

  • Appropriate professional qualifications.

  • Good understanding of the characteristics and qualities that customers want from spa experiences and treatments.

  • Knowledge of key performance indicators and their application and how they can be used to effect improvement.

  • Good understanding of developments in the spa industry.

  • Knowledge of electronic booking systems.

  • Extensive experience in a busy spa/health & fitness centre, or working in a customer-focused environment.

  • Evidence of achieving results and making a difference to customers.

  • Evidence of achieving results and making change happen through supervision and influence.
