Senior Barista – Woolwich Waves

GLL is looking for a Senior Barista to join the team at Woolwich Waves, our brand-new flagship leisure in South East London. What you’ll do

As a Senior Barista, you’ll play a key role in the smooth running of our café and coffee, ensuring every drink and interaction meets the highest standards. You’ll take ownership of quality, consistency, and presentation - from bean to cup - while supporting the Café in day-to-day operations.

 

You’ll:

  • Lead and motivate a small team of baristas and catering assistants during shifts

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest has a positive experience

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and fresh food in line with GLL standards

  • Manage stock levels, place orders, and support regular stocktakes

  • Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance at all times

  • Support training and development of new team members

  • Assist with setting up for events and children’s parties when required

  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming café environment

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience as a Senior Barista or Barista Trainer / Supervisor

  • A genuine passion for coffee, customer service, and creating a welcoming environment

  • Strong communication and multitasking skills

  • The ability to lead by example and inspire others

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate (or willingness to achieve this)

  • Flexibility to work a rota including weekends and evenings
