GLL is looking for an Aquatics Hub Manager to work across various locations. This role will oversee all aquatic related work streams for multiple partnerships, reporting into the National Aquatics Team. Salary from £32,572

 

As Hub Swim School Manager, you will lead a team of Area Swim School Leads to manage the Hub Swim School business. In your role, you’ll have overall responsibility for the swim school workforce, business and customer KPIs for your Hub. This is a varied role, working in the office and out and about in our Leisure Centres. You will be required to work in London and the role will involve UK wide travel. You’ll track your areas’ income, expenditure and sales in order to ensure your product is profitable and running to a high standard, with some travel required within your Hub

 

You’ll ultimately provide opportunities and access to enable more people to go swimming and enjoy being more active. You’ll oversee Better Swim School which delivers swimming lessons every week to over 130,000 children across the UK. In addition to these, you’ll also manage the workforce development and aquatic strategy in line with Better Swim School  and  you’ll need to be able to manage relationships effectively and have first rate team management skills.

 

Not only will you manage those work streams, you’ll also provide management support to the Areas Swim School Leads,  swimming  teachers and centre teams ensuring  ongoing reviews swim school and establish further ways to expand the programme. With excellent time management skills you’ll complete various work stream reports, poolside observations of teachers and respond to emails which can be anything from a swimming teacher applicant to queries from Areas swim School leads. Effective communication skills will stand you in good stead as you’ll have conference calls with the local leaderships teams, central  aquatics teams and meetings with other central support department and external partnerships.

 

First and foremost you love aquatics and being in the environment of the pool. You must have  a Level 2 Certificate in teaching swimming, and  an STA Tutor Qualification and/or Level 3 Award in Education and Training are desirable. Therefore, understand the reality of teaching the sport and have the technical knowledge.  An understanding  and/or experience of working with the STA / Swim England would be beneficial. You’ll have the opportunity to improve the aquatics offer to the community and to develop exciting new aquatic activities and pathways.
