GLL is looking for a Learning and Development Trainer (RLSS TA) to join the team based at head office in Woolwich, South East London. Learning and Development is at the heart of our values. Our Learning & Development trainer is responsible for ensuring that relevant training and continuous development is available to the workforce. The primary function of this role is delivering high quality training and qualifications and continuous professional development (CPD) to our internal staff and members of the public that book onto courses. This includes delivering course content as per the awarding organisations guidance as well as ensuring all training records are accurate and supporting the IQA & Quality control process across a variety of courses. This role is based in London with some requirement to travel outside of London where there is a training need. 

 

Experience delivering RLSS National Pool Lifeguard (NPLQ) is essential. You’ll be a knowledgeable trainer with experience delivering multiple qualifications or training courses and have shown excellent quality assurance. You’ll have excellent communication, presentation and IT skills required for training our internal staff and customers. Your key stakeholders will include the People Team, National Standards & Compliance and managers within the facilities. With a passion for RLSS & Aquatic Training, you’ll be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the NPLQ & NRASTC syllabus and best practice delivery. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver courses as and when required.
  • Be able to deliver the following courses (qualifications dependant)
  • NPLQ Courses
  • NPLQ Renewals
  • NRASTC & NRASTC Light
  • First Aid at Work & First at Work Renewals
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • First Aid Skills Updates
  • STA Qualifications & CPDs
  • Support with all external and internal audits to ensure that GLL customers (internal and external) are receiving the best quality training possible.
  • Attend and participate in verification and standardisation meetings.
  • Monitor completion rates with regard to courses as well as assessor and candidate feedback.
  • Monitor trends and suggest improvements to delivery model where applicable.
  • With the Training Manager, support the multi-skilling agenda.
  • Ensure and monitor diversity of learners and training access, in alignment with the EDI policy and plan. 
  • Professionalise the workforce by supporting the multi-skilling agenda through the training offer.
  • Create a ‘One GLL’ understanding and learning culture amongst the workforce and a reputation as an organisation that demonstrates commitment to our people via our training offer. 
  • To ensure welfare and safety of all training delivery including any Health & Safety monitoring. 

 

What you need:

  • RLSS NPLQ/First Aid TA Status
  • Good understanding of management systems, policies and procedures.
  • Extensive RLSS delivery & vocational training experience.
  • Training & Mentoring front-line members of staff.
  • Delivery of classroom training.
  • Use of e-learning & CPD.
  • Experience working in high-demand environments working to targets & deadlines 
  • Working autonomously 
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organisation 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with attention to detail 
  • IT literate with proven experience of MS Office Suite of applications 
  • High level of organisational, practical and process-driven skills 
  • Be able to self-manage

This is a permanent position of up to 30 hours a week. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service, flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
