Blue Peris is seeking a Housekeeper/ Catering / Domestic Assistant to join our team.

 

This role  at our centre in Dinorwic, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, you see you contribute and play a vital role in maintaining the standards of cleanliness and housekeeping. In addition, you will support the Head cook and catering team in the preparation and delivery of meals

About You:

 

Ideally, have some experience of working within a kitchen environment, basic cooking as well as experience in supporting with housekeeping duties, such as basic cleaning and laundry.

 

You’ll also need experience of preparing basic pre made food dishes, some that require cooking, and a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, (although training can be provided for this ).

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

Overall

 
 

  • To ensure all necessary qualifications for the post are maintained and renewed as required and undertake required training

  • Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate in line with the needs of the service and commensurate with grade.

  • Having regard to standards of Health and Safety

  • Provide a customer focused service

 

Housekeeping

 

Some of the tasks and responsibilities associated with this role include:

 

  • Supervision of 1 other cleaning staff

  • Take responsibility for the day to day running of housekeeping and cleaning of the centre

  • Undertake the cleaning duties as required to ensure centre is cleaned daily

  • Manage and monitor the supplies required for cleaning

  • To oversee and inspect the cleanliness of the house to ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control

  • Liaise with Administrator, Head Cook and Deputy Manager In view of course requirements

  • Oversee and control stock required for the role

  • To attend to the laundry of centre on site

  • Ensure relevant records are kept up to date

 

Kitchen

Some of the tasks and responsibilities associated with this role include:

 

  • Basic record-keeping tasks, such as temperature checks

  • Receive, food deliveries

  • Heat and serve meals that have already been prepared.

  • Supporting the domestic  team operating in the  serving area

  • Perform kitchen set-up and close-down process

  • Liase with Head cook in view of staffing rota

  • To participate in the serving meals (not table service) and basic food preparation such as salads, cooked breakfasts

  • Morning shifts from 7.00am and evening shifts up till 7.00pm are shared, thus meaning you’re not working early or late every day.

 

Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week, with flexibility to suit candidate, please get in touch to discuss

  • Normal centre opening hours are between 7.00am and 7.00pm Monday to Friday.

  • No double split shifts

  • No requirement to work multiple 11 hour shifts in a week

  • The am and pm shifts to be shared with other staff

  • Some weekend working will be required and shared with other domestic staff. This is often 1 weekend per month  . At times this will either be a Saturday morning 7.30am -11.30am or Sunday 1.pm to 7.pm

 

Salary  Full Time  £26,070.46  FT, Closing date   Jan 5th 2025, Interview date : planned for  28th Jan 2025
