HEALTH REFERRAL MANAGER

(Fixed term-maternity cover Dec 2024 – Nov 2025)

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

 

GLL is looking for maternity cover for the Health Referral Manager as part of the Community Sport and Health Team.  

 

Key responsibilities of the Health Referral Manager are as followed: 

*       Management and development of the Health Team 

*       To manage all, and where appropriate increase the number of targeted health intervention programmes delivered within Better 

*       Administer and manage necessary resources, project management systems, financial structures and external contracts necessary to deliver funded programmes and recurrent Health/physical activity programmes delivered across the city 

*       Ensure that the Performance Improvement and Key Performance Indicators for the funded programmes and recurrent Health Intervention programmes are collated, recorded and monitored in compliance with requirements 

*       Managing allocated budgets as determined within the project 

*       Ensure external funding agents funds are spent in line with agreements / contracts 

*       Manage and evaluate Code 5-Health Living budget liaise with PM and GMs regarding their centres 

*       Manage and work collaboratively with all relevant partner organisations to facilitate the effective delivery of the health intervention such as Belfast Council, Active Belfast, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust 

*       Ensure that relevant, funded programmes and recurrent Health/physical activity programmes are contributing to the development and implementation of GLL’s Health Agenda and Tackling Health Inequalities 

*       Co-ordinate communications between key delivery partners such as Active Belfast etc. 

*       Act as the main point of contact between referring agents, referral patients and the schemes facilitators 

*       Represent GLL at any relevant health events or community outreach event 

*       Network and develop effective partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities for funded programmes, including the delivery and development of the health 

programmes  

*       Ensure that centres are supporting the Active Aging/Age Friendly agenda with basic classes and other activities 

*       Support Health team with delivery of programmes in case of sickens and staff absences to limit service disruption as much as possible 

*       Support the wider work of the Community Sports Team when needed 

*       Support the Regional Business Manager with any other relevant duties 

*       Support wider National and Coporate projects set out by the Coporate/National Community and Health Manager 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Requirements:

*       Work full time and be flexible to the requirements of the role 

*       Experience in managing a team  

*       Experience in managing and coordinating funded projects 

*       Experience and knowledge in regard to health programmes and supporting health conditions through physical activity  

*       Effective organisational and time management skills 

*       Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification 

*       Level 4 Exercise Specialist Qualification 

*       Third level qualification in a related discipline or 5 years relevant experience
