Sutton Sports Village in Sutton, is looking for a Head Gymnastics Coach to be responsible for delivering and developing all gymnastics programmes to over 750 participants. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or elite gymnast, classes are available across all levels and forms of gymnastics; from floor and vaults squads to display work and women's artistic events.
Under the guidance of highly qualified British Gymnastics coaches, our classes and squads run 48 weeks per year and accommodate a variety of ages too; from toddlers, children, teens to adults, we have something for everyone.
Our Better Gymnastics; programme is designed to challenge and give participants the opportunity to be the best they can be. Across GLL, there are over 10,000 participants in gymnastics covering all age groups and abilities, from toddlers to adults and recreational level to elite performance, so the variety of deliverable programmes can be vast.
You will have a real passion for gymnastics that will shine through as you manage and motivate your team of coaches to develop a quality, structured and balanced programme for them to follow. You'll understand the needs of gymnasts and their abilities, helping you to create an environment that enables each and every one of them to reach their potential through safe, organised and progressive squad training sessions. You'll plan competition entries and physically and mentally prepare gymnast for competition. In turn, you'll also be able to understand and operate the business aspect of gymnastics in terms of staff development, reposting and administration, whilst achieving financial, performance and sales targets.
You'll need a relevant British Gymnastics level 3 coaching qualification and have experience of managing a team in various environments such as leisure centres, clubs and schools. . As the main point of contact for customers regarding gymnastics enquiries, you'll have good communication and customer-service skills too. A consistent track record of running successful gymnastics programmes through developing existing programmes, increasing participation numbers and income and offering new opportunities will be of benefit. As you'll be working with children it would be useful that you have knowledge and understanding of the Children Act and Child Protection issues.
