GLL is looking for a General Assistant to join the team at Hough End Leisure Centre. You'll be involved in key aspects of the operational services across all areas of the centre includingeffective and efficient provision of the day-to-day café service. Including customer service, cleaning, food preparation, storage, drink and cash handling. General Assistants will be the sort of person who thrives in a busy environment and will be unfazed by the variety of the role. Our general assistants role is varied and could be doing anything from assisting in the day-to-day service, ensuring that high standards of service and quality are maintained. Participating in the production and service having regard for the standards of health and safety hygiene and cleanliness. Undertaking the preparation, serving and delivery of fresh food and drinks.
Ideally, you'll have a Basic Food Hygiene certificate and be calm under pressure, highly responsible and a natural with people from all walks of life. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will stand you in good stead too!

What you’ll do:
Maintain a good and positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional operational service.
To ensure excellent standards of cleanliness at all times.
To promote the facility in a positive manner to retain existing customers, encourage greater participation, and introduce new users to the stadium.
To assist in the maintenance of all records, systems and procedures to ensure control of stocks and conformity with financial regulations and procedures.
To ensure the security and maintenance of the café area and the contents within.
To receive incoming stocks, check against delivery notes and store as instructed in line with hygiene and safety regulations
To carry out all duties with due regard for Health and Safety requirements and regulations, the Society’s Customer Care and Equal Opportunities policies
