Role Summary
The Events Manager at Westminster Boating base is responsible for driving commercial success through effective event planning, execution and client relationship management. This role involves developing a strategic events programme, managing budgets, leading a team and ensuring smooth delivery of high-profile events with key holder responsibilities. As a key figure at the venue, the Events Manager will work with the Water Sports Manager to focus on business development, operational excellence and delivering high-quality customer experiences that enhance the venue’s reputation. The Event Manager is responsible to the General Manager operationally with strategic line management from the National Events and Filming team commercially.

What you’ll do:
Develop and implement a strategic events calendar to maximise commercial potential
Manage all aspects of event planning from initial enquiries to event execution
Provide exceptional customer service and experiences
Build and maintain relationships with corporate and private clients to drive repeat business
Work closely with marketing to promote events and attract new business
Oversee budgets and ensuring profitability
Lead and motivate an events team to deliver seamless event operations
Ensure health and safety compliance and operational excellence across all events

What you need:
Proven experience in events management with a strong focus on commercial venues
Successfully planned and executed conferences, awards and exhibitions (2,500 plus)
Developed commercial event strategies, securing sponsorships and ticket sales
Experience in venue sales, enquiry management and event marketing
Excellent organisational and event programming skills
Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and manage budgets effectively
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships
Leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate and develop an events team
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and event compliance
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
Personal Licence Holder and Degree or Industry Qualification preferred
