The Events Manager role is pivotal in driving the commercial events success of the Westminster Boating Base. As an Events Manager you’ll oversee the planning, execution and delivery of a diverse range of events, ensuring our venue is a leading destination for conferences, corporate events, private parties, weddings and filming. With responsibilities including financial management, business development, team leadership and operational excellence, this Event Manager role is perfect for someone ready to take the helm of an exciting, vibrant venue in the heart of London.
What you’ll do:
* Develop and implement a strategic events calendar to maximise commercial potential
* Manage all aspects of event planning from initial enquiries to event execution
* Provide exceptional customer service and experiences
* Build and maintain relationships with corporate and private clients to drive repeat business
* Work closely with marketing to promote events and attract new business
* Oversee budgets and ensuring profitability
* Lead and motivate an events team to deliver seamless event operations
* Ensure health and safety compliance and operational excellence across all events

What you need:
* Proven experience in events management with a strong focus on commercial venues
* Successfully planned and executed conferences, awards and exhibitions (2,500+)
* Developed commercial event strategies, securing sponsorships and ticket sales
* Experience in venue sales, enquiry management and event marketing
* Excellent organisational and event programming skills
* Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and manage budgets effectively
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships
* Leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate and develop an events team
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and event compliance
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
* Personal Licence Holder and Degree or Industry Qualification preferred
