Better Children’s Centres are looking to recruit enthusiastic Child & Family Practitioners to work within the Thamesmead & Abbey Wood areas on a flexible (bank) basis. This role will involve working across our two children’s centres and some outreach for example: covering ratio within our nursery settings, supporting the delivery of children centre activities which include stay and play sessions, and training crÿches.
High quality early learning and care which is in line with Early Years Foundation Stage requirements will be essential to your role. You will have good written and verbal communication skills as you will work with colleagues and partners to integrate this role with the wider children’s centre services to help identify and support the needs of local families with young children. A warm, caring nature and good interpersonal skills are a must.
You will have experience of working with children under five years of age and their families and be able to respond to both group and individual needs. An NVQ Level 2 in Childcare (or equivalent) would be desirable. It goes without saying you will be a confident team member with a positive driven approach and flexible attitude. You will be required to work flexibly within the range of hours of 08.30 to 17.00

You’ll be a creative thinker, able to lead and devise fun sessions for children and babies up to 5 years old in everything from song and story times to arts and crafts.
