GLL is looking for an flexible Events Duty Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Bath Pavilion in Bath, Somerset.

 

You'll thrive on making our clients and guests feel special whether they're high-profile, public figures or not. This is a largely hands-on role where you'll provide support to the wider events team, as well as to clients before, during and after events with the view to retaining their business on the back of our excellent service. You'll be part of a team that you'll inspire with your accuracy around health and safety procedures, security and sales. Your previous experience working in events will have taught you that this isn't a 9-5 job. With events running late into the night, you could be working shifts that don't finish until 3am where you'll be expected to close the building.

 

With a venue such as this, it goes without saying that your attention to detail and customer service skills will be excellent. Friendly and likeable but able to command respect, you'll be confident giving tours of the venue to potential clients / customers, answering phones, managing bars and staff and planning duty rotas. Ideally you'll have a mix of operational and sales experience from an events background. It would be beneficial, although not crucial, for you to be a Personal Licence holder and have a First Aid at Work qualification.

What you’ll do:

*     A can-do attitude.

  • Ability to maintain a good and positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional operational service.
  • Assist customers with use of the facilities and activities and to encourage maximum use of the Centre.
  • Prepare areas and equipment for sessions as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective control of the day to day operations and service of the centre, ensuring that security, general cleanliness, customer supervision and equipment checks are maintained.
  • Ensure all operating procedures are in place.
  • To maintain all ‘good housekeeping’ systems and assist management to effect improvement plans for energy conservation and resource maximisation.
  • Supervision of all staff on shift, effectively and efficiently allocating work and carrying out any other duties as required commensurate with posts level of responsibility.
  • Ensure all members of the team are effectively supervised and that all people management procedures are effectively operated within the team (e.g recruitment, absence reporting, qualification maintenance, appraisals, discipline etc).
