GLL is looking for Children’s Activity Instructors to deliver engaging and fun activities as part of our Holiday Schemes across our leisure centres in Belfast. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with children, promoting physical activity and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities, including sports, games, arts & crafts and team challenges.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children attending the Holiday Scheme.
Engage with children positively, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions.
Support children in developing their confidence, social skills and physical abilities.
Ensure all activities align with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
Manage group behaviour effectively to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
Work collaboratively with other instructors, leisure centre staff and parents to provide a high-quality experience for participants.
Handle any first aid incidents, following proper procedures and reporting as required.
Complete relevant administrative tasks such as attendance registers and incident reports.
What you need:
A passion for engaging children in fun and active experiences.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Previous experience working with children in a coaching, teaching or activity leader role.
A recognised coaching or childcare qualification (e.g., Level 1 or 2 in Sports Coaching, Playwork or equivalent) is desirable.
