GLL is looking for Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teachers based at Andersonstown Leisure Centre. As a Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher, your primary role will be to deliver excellent quality Baby & Pre-School swimming lessons in line with our product SWIMBiES. Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teachers deliver in the water for lessons, following the plans of the programme. Singing is a large part of the role, so you will need to be confident to sing in public. You will be the face of our baby lesson programme at centres, which means you will be expected to communicate effectively with all customers, as well as being welcoming, creating a safe, fun, and loving teaching environment.

What qualifications do I need to hold?

Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teachers must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • STA Level 2 Award in Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher

  • Swim England Level 2 Teaching Pre-School Swimming

  • STA Level 3 Diploma in Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher

If the above qualification is not held but you hold a STA Level 2 Award or certificate qualification and you have a passion for delivering Baby & Pre-School swimming lessons, we will work with you to help develop your delivery experience. STA Level 2 Award in Baby and Pre-School must be completed within 6 months of taking on regular lessons.

Experience/Knowledge

As a Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher, you will have experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Experience working with babies & toddlers

  • Experience working with parents & guardians

  • Understanding of child development in relation to baby swimming lessons

  • Knowledge of songs and games suitable for baby swimming lessons

Planning and completing any necessary administration will be a vital part of your role, ensuring that the customer experience is positive from entering the centre through to changing and then during the lessons itself.

  • This is a flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible. Working from home is not possible in this role.
